Dallas' Rustic Nursery

Things sure are different with baby number two. Not that I didn't have ideas of what I wanted Dallas' room to look like - I just didn't have quite as much free time to plan and set things up like we did before we had Vada. While I was pregnant with Dallas, I began planning a rustic theme for our little guy. I painted and designed prints to hang in his room; I reupholstered a lampshade; I painted the letters of his name black, then hung them from a birch tree branch from our yard. My parents gifted us a sleek mid-century inspired crib that fit perfectly with his theme. Since Dallas decided to arrive a month early, the rest of the decorating got pushed aside - after all, he was going to be sleeping in our room to start anyway.

I had been on the lookout for a dresser/changing table for a while and I knew I wanted it to match his crib. Since the crib has a mid-century style, we decided to look at a vintage store here in Waukesha called Brew City Salvage. Low and behold, they had a dresser there that matched perfectly - they even had painted the top of it white - it was meant to be!

After several months of gathering furniture and artwork for our little nugget (teepee from House in Habit), we finally found time this past weekend to put the finishing touches on his room and I couldn't be happier with the result. It took longer than I had hoped, but dare I say, it was worth the wait?
