Vada's room was the very first room we tackled when we moved into our new place. I wanted to make sure it was complete for her right away to make the transition of moving as easy as possible on her. Luckily, there was no wall paper that needed to be removed in this room - only new carpet and some paint. We painted the walls "dolphin gray" and the wood trim white. The trim ended up needing three coats of paint - luckily, her room is on the smaller side! We removed the closet doors to make the room appear a bit larger (and who doesn't love seeing all the adorable tiny clothes hanging in the closet?) We used all the same decor from her room in our first house in order to keep things familiar for her. I specifically chose pieces that were not babyish, so she could grow into the space.
Here is the before and after looking in from her door...

My brother-in-law built this custom changing table to fit over a standing radiator in our first home. Since we loved it so much, we decided to bring it with us when we moved. It fit perfectly under the window and still allows for the vent to remain open. The vintage toy cash register and coral baskets are perfect accent pieces and great pops of color on these shelves.
I made this bunting by cutting out triangles in four different fabric patterns. I then cut out the letters using bright coral fabric and ironed them onto each triangle. Lastly, I sewed them all together using white fabric edging. It hangs beautifully above her crib. Thanks, mom, for your help and the use of your sewing machine!
We previously had the Banksy "girl with balloons" wall decal in our stairway at our first home. Vada loved admiring it each time we walked by, so we decided to make this a part of her room when we moved. We stuck the decal to the wall then painted over it with the light gray paint. Once the paint was dry, we removed the decal and viola, an easy stencil complete!
The framed picture above, was a gift from my husband given to me before Vada was born. It reads, "and then there were four." He told me that our dog helped him make it, hence the "four." I shed a few tears when I opened this extremely thoughtful present. And yes, he made it himself! Isn't he the best?!
